The Tall Ships will be sailing into Gloucester Docks on Wednesday and Thursday this week in readiness for the three-day Gloucester Tall Ships festival taking place over the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend.
Six celebrated tall ships will be taking part this year which will see a jam-packed line-up of family entertainment and tons of water activity for the public to dive into.
Among the tall ships on show will be TS Irene, built in 1907 in Bridgwater, which has sailed as part of the fleet of British merchant vessels and has appeared in blockbuster movie, Pirates of the Caribbean.
Also on display will be La Malouine, built in 1968 in Gdansk, Poland, which was converted to a brigantine and sailed in the charter business with sailing guests mainly in the Baltic Sea. Get ready to meet Captain Roy who has renovated La Malouine!
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Gloucester Docks will be packed with activities, music and maritime adventure for all the family.
Head for Orchard Square or Victoria Dock to see the best of the region's music artists, or catch amazing walkabout performers in Mariner's Square, which is also home to the children's activities area. These include the Captain Barnacle Puppet Show, arts and crafts, ship making workshops, land yacht racing and water ship racing.
On the water, The Canal & River Trust will be putting on 45-minute boat trips which will run from the National Waterways Museum. Have a go at paddleboarding or canoeing with Discover Paddling or take a skippered trip around the docks with Gloucester Boat Hire.
At the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum, there will be children's arts, crafts and sticker hunts and from 2pm you can also catch some live music.
