Gloucester site ripe for redevelopment goes up for sale

The former Fad and Fated vintage goods shop at 35 Worcester Street is up for sale, advertised as a rare opportunity for development in Gloucester city centre.
Plans were approved in March to transform the site into a retail until on the ground floor as well as five HMOs (houses of multiple occupation), providing 21 bedrooms for residents on the first, second and third floors.
But now the current owner has put the property up for sale, with a guide price of £850,000 for the freehold.
Plans specify a 213 sq metre retail space, with eight units, with sizes vary between 21-26 sq metres and two communal areas on the ground and first floors.
On the second and third floors, there will be a further 18 units, with sizes varying between 21-26 sq metres alongside two communal areas.
Included in the sale is also the demolition of the existing building by the current owner, leaving the site ready for redevelopment.
This site sits next to the recently completed Gloucester City Homes and Cape Homes project on the corner of Worcester Street and Gouda Way.
A total of 24 flats were built on this neighbouring historical site, formally known as Tanner's Hall. The ruins of the 13th centre medieval town house, believed to be the oldest non-religious building in the city, were incorporated into the ground floor of the development.
Fad and Faded vacated the building at 35 Worcester Street in November 2020, and now operates from the Malthouse Emporium in Tewkesbury.
