Fashion store sees turnover rise by near 20 per cent

One of the latest additions to the shopping hot spot that is Gloucester Quays has revealed a near 20 per cent rise in takings over the last year.
Defying concerns on the health of retailing on the UK's high streets premium fashion brand Joules has delivered am 18.4 per cent rise in turnover.
The fashion brand moved into its home in Gloucester Quays in November last year immediately attracting the attention of brand-hunters.
Colin Porter, Joules chief executive, said: "It has been another strong year of growth for the Joules brand, with our continued expansion within the UK and international markets enabling the Group to a profit performance ahead of initial expectations.
"This performance is testament to the strength and appeal of the Joules brand. We have made excellent progress against our strategy of expanding the brand both at home and abroad, and the board remains confident that this momentum will continue in FY19."
According to its figures for the 52 weeks to May 27, its revenue was £185.9 million, up 18.8 per cent, and underlying profit before tax rose 28.5 per cent to £13 million.
Joules operates in 123 stores in the UK and Ireland.
