Gloucester photographer shortlisted for prestigious award

A Gloucester-based photographer has been highly commended in the Event Photography Awards for a stunning picture of a civil war re-enactment.

Paul Nicholls, an award-winning former Citizen photographer who now runs his own PR and news photography agency, took the picture at the English Civil War Siege re-enactment.

It is the fourth time in as many years that Mr Nicholls has made the shortlist for the prestigious awards.

"I have entered the last four years and luckily have always been shortlisted," Mr Nicholls said.

"I was highly commended in 2017 and runner-up in 2018. Two of the pics were shortlisted with one of them getting highly commended.

"This year, again I was highly commended and was really pleased because the competition attracts fantastic photographers from around the world."
