Gloucester men charged after string of robberies across the county

Two men from Gloucester have been charged after a string of robberies across the county on Sunday.

Michael Lebon, 48, of Stanley Terrace and John Phillips, 46, of Stratford Close have been charged with five counts of robbery and were due to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Lebon has also been further charged with three counts of possession of a bladed article.

The charges relate to three incidents on Sunday,  retail premises across Gloucestershire.

The first incident occurred at McDonalds on Bristol Road in Gloucester before another on High Street in Twyning and then in Cinderford.

The pair were remanded in custody ahead of their appearance at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
