Gloucester IT boss is award finalist

Westway IT Ltd has announced that its managing director John Fisher has been named a finalist in the prestigious 2025 GTIA UK & Ireland Spotlight Awards.

This recognition highlights John's exceptional leadership and contributions to the technology industry.

The Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA) has announced the finalists for the awards which honour member individuals and organisations for their commitment, dedication, and leadership in advancing the IT channel.

Award winners in nine categories will be announced and recognised at the upcoming GTIA UK & Ireland Community Forum & Spotlight Awards on June 26 in Manchester.

After a full day of learning, collaborating, and networking, winners will be celebrated at a reception and dinner hosted by GTIA, the only vendor-neutral, non-profit membership community connecting and representing the worldwide IT channel.

MJ Shoer, chief community officer of GTIA, said: "The UK & Ireland Community Forum & Spotlight Awards is a terrific opportunity to honour some of our most engaged volunteer members for their contributions to GTIA and the IT channel over the last year.

"What's especially gratifying is the winners are chosen by a selection committee comprising other GTIA members from around the world — embodying our 'for members, by members' philosophy. Congratulations to all our finalists. I look forward to celebrating together in Manchester."

Future Leader Award finalists:

  • Liam Coombs, marketing manager, Uptime
  • John Fisher, managing director, Westway IT Ltd
  • Harriet Robbins, product manager, Giacom
  • Chloe Schofield, sales manager, Brigantia

The Future Leader Award is given to a young professional at an active GTIA member organisation who has shown success or originality as an entrepreneur or has made an industry impact in some other demonstrable way.

John Fisher has been recognised for his innovative leadership and significant contributions to the IT services sector. Under his guidance, Westway IT Ltd has achieved remarkable growth and has been at the forefront of delivering cutting-edge IT solutions to clients.

John has been instrumental in transforming Westway IT Ltd into a leading IT service provider and managed service provider (MSP) in Gloucestershire. His strategic direction and commitment to excellence have driven the company to new heights, ensuring that clients receive top-tier IT support and solutions tailored to their unique needs.

John's dedication to fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement has not only benefited his organisation but also made a significant impact on the broader IT industry.

John said: "We are thrilled to be recognised by the GTIA. This nomination is a testament to the hard work and innovation of our entire team at Westway IT Ltd. We are committed to continuing our efforts to push the boundaries of technology and deliver exceptional value to our clients and partners."
