Gloucester coach firm cleans up at national awards

A Gloucester-based coach company has picked up a pair of prestigious awards from National Express for upholding exceptional standards.

Bennett's Coaches, which runs coach services on behalf of National Express, achieved the top accolade in the Operator of the Year (6-10 vehicles) and coveted Network Operator of the Year categories in the National Express annual national operator awards.

The family-run firm, based on Eastern Avenue in Gloucester, stood out as one of National Express' 11 gold-rated operators, having achieved consistently high audit scores for green credentials, safety and customer satisfaction.

Bennett's beat off competition from coach operators from around the UK to be crowned National Operator of the Year, racking up more than 470,000 miles in 2021 and enjoying a near-faultless customer satisfaction rating.

The business also reported a number of customers who contacted them directly to praise their drivers' skill, manner and helpfulness.

They were also awarded a Gold Standard Achievement Award for the eleventh consecutive year, which is said to recognise operators who have consistently exceeded expectation.

Gavin Bennett, managing director of Bennett's Coaches, said: "It truly is a team effort that makes successes like these possible. The competition is so strong from the other excellent partner operators but we are thrilled to have been recognised for our hard work."

Ed Rickard, National Express coach service delivery director, added: "We are thrilled to see Bennett's recognised with three awards this year. It is testament to their diligence and hard work that they are delivering such fantastic results across the board.

"As a business we are committed to delivering excellence for our customers, which means upholding stringent standards and testing including among our partner operators. Bennett's came up with the goods consistently and on behalf of National Express, I congratulate them on a job exceedingly well done."
