Gloucester City Homes appoints new chief executive

Gloucester City Homes (GCH) has appointed Guy Stenson as its new chief executive.

Mr Stenson, who is currently director of housing operations at Stonewater will join the organisation in March 2021 as current chief executive Ashley Green retires.

GCH said he had been selected for the role following an extensive recruitment process involving various stages including an interview with its Tenant Panel, a staff panel and a final interview process led by the board including tenant board members.

The salary of the post, as outlined in the job specification, is £130,000 per annum plus benefits.

Chair of the GCH Board, Asif Bhatti said: "I am pleased to announce that Guy Stenson will be joining GCH as our new Chief Executive in March. Guy brings a wealth of relevant experience and values that are shared with GCH.

"He is currently with Stonewater, a housing association who manage around 34,500 homes. He is their Director of Housing Operations and has over 20 years experience in leadership roles working in housing, health and social care. During the selection process Guy was able to show passion for creating environments where people can thrive; experience of innovation to deliver services to meet a diverse range of needs and an understanding of both the opportunities and challenges that we face within the sector.

"I'm excited that Guy is joining us to build on the success that we have achieved as a team and I look forward to welcoming him to GCH in 2022."

Guy Stenson said: "I am really excited to be joining GCH and to use my experience to benefit customers of Gloucester City Homes. Liam Kelch, GCH board member and tenant representative added: "I am delighted that Guy has been appointed as Chief Executive of Gloucester City Homes and brings a wealth of customer experience. I am sure he will continue with the great progress GCH has made over the past years. I have no doubt that GCH will continue to succeed and benefit the lives of local people under Guy's leadership."
