Gloucester Aldi store worker’s child chosen to appear on Mamia nappy packaging

A Gloucester Aldi store worker is delighted after her two year old daughter was chosen to appear on the supermarket chain's nappy packaging.

Aldi's award-winning Mamia nappies have recently been given a new look and now feature the children of company employees on the pack designs.

Among them is Layla, the little daughter of Gloucester employee Gemma Gulliver.

"Each child featured on the new packs is the lucky winner of the supermarket's internal Next Top Baby competition," said an Aldi spokesperson.

"Out of hundreds of entries, Gloucester's own Layla was chosen, courtesy of mum Gemma, who has worked for Aldi for 2 years and was sure her 2-year-old had star potential. "

Gemma said "Layla is just so cheeky and loves posing. Plus she loves rolling around in her comfy Mamia nappy, they've never let me down!

"I couldn't help but think she would be perfect as a model so when the Mamia competition was announced I just had to put her forward."

Aldi has selected 12 baby-faced winners to grace the packs of the nappies, which are the UK's best-selling own-brand.

"The Mamia nappy range is award-winning, having previously won Gold in the Mother & Baby Awards 2019 in the 'Best Performance Disposable Nappy' category," said the spokesperson.

"Aldi's Mamia Ultra-Dry Nappies were awarded a prestigious Which? Best Buy in November 2020, with a brilliant score of 95%. Mamia Ultra-Dry Air System Nappy Size 4+ (£2.89 for 44) also won Silver in the Made for Mums Awards 2020 Baby Nappies sizes 3 & 4 category."
