Gift of free parking for city's Christmas shoppers - VIDEO

With Christmas just around the corner, Gloucester City Council is giving residents an early present of free parking at certain times.

The city council is hoping it will encourage more shoppers to come into Gloucester this Christmas to buy presents for loved ones from the city's wide range of stores.

Free parking will be available after 3pm on Thursdays in city centre car parks-Longsmith Street multi-storey, the Eastgate Centre and Kings Walk car parks, throughout December.

Councillor Paul James, Leader of Gloucester City Council said: "We have a great range of shops in Gloucester and they need our support.

"We hope that by offering free Christmas parking after 3pm on Thursdays we will encourage residents and visitors to come and enjoy the city centre and all it has to offer."
