Get well paid for sharing your industry knowledge

South Gloucestershire and Stroud (SGS) College is on the lookout for some special people to share their industry knowledge with the skilled workers of the future.

There is currently a big lack of the staff to deliver training to the future generation, whether in the classroom or through apprenticeships. And without teachers and trainers, there can be no more training of new industry recruits to the standards businesses are looking for.

SGS College is facing major issues recruiting qualified, industry experienced staff in several key sectors including construction, engineering, digital and high tech. Currently the College has over 90 vacancies.

That's why SGS has joined forces with City of Bristol and City of Bath Colleges, the Western Training Provider Network and Business West to deliver a joint recruitment event to encourage new entrants into the world of training and skills development.

The event will be held on Friday 9th February from 1.30pm at the SGS WISE Campus in Stoke Gifford, Bristol.

So whether you are retired, nearing the end of your career, looking for a new challenge or looking to supplement your income, a new career as a trainer could be for you.

Ian Mean, Director of Business West, said: "A lot of retired people or those nearing retirement with specialist skills could really make a difference to help our young people into the world of work and this event provides an ideal platform to find out more."
