Games Workshop beats own forecast

Fantasy figurine retailer, Games Workshop, turned over £121 million in the three months to August 31.

The retailer, which has Warhammer branded stores in Gloucester and Cheltenham, said its latest edition of Warhammer figurines proved to be even more popular then predicted, helping it to beat its own trading forecast.

Games Workshop's turnover was up by £15 million on the same period last year, as reported by The Times.

It now predicts pre-tax profit of around £57 million, up from £39m last summer.

Warhammer is the most popular miniature war game in the world. Its tenth edition was released in June.
