Game is latest to join Mike Ashley retail family

Gaming store, Game, is the latest in a long line of retailers to be taken over by Mike Ashley and Sports Direct.
In a statement to the stock market, the company said it had little choice but to accept Ashley's £52 million takeover.
Sports Direct bought a 26 per cent stake in Game in 2017 and recently increased its stake to 38.5 per cent, as reported by Retail Gazette.
Game has a store in Gloucester. Its Cheltenham store closed last year.
In its stock market statement, Game said: "In coming to this recommendation, the board has considered the growing size of Sports Direct's shareholding in the group.
"Current negative retail market outlook and the likely elongated current console life cycle are expected to impact the future financial performance of the group."
Over the last year, Mike Ashley has taken over House of Fraser and Evans Cycles. He also owns a 30 per cent share in Debenhams.
