From Strictly Come Dancing to Radiohead – to lecturer

After a career which has seen him work on the hit television show Strictly Come Dancing and with rock band Radiohead Jamie Bryan is focusing on Gloucestershire.

Now the electrical engineer will be helping illuminate the way as the head of training at Clarkson Evans Training.

He will become the head of the nine-strong team of electrical lecturers at the training arm of the Staverton electrical contractor.

The introduction of the new 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, released in July, promises to make it a busy summer for the team.

Lindsey Young, chief operating officer at parent company Clarkson Evans, said: "The team continues to expand and deliver training to increasing numbers of apprentices employed by our contracting business, across an ever-growing area of the country.

"Training apprentices is fundamental to the long-term growth of Clarkson Evans and we pride ourselves on attracting and retaining the best talent.

"Over 70 per cent of our current team leaders and area managers are former apprentices and our managing director Nathan Evans started his career with us as an apprentice."

Mr Bryan said: "I'm now looking forward to an exciting new challenge. The 18th Edition will herald change for us on many fronts, I am in the fortunate position to have the support of a dynamic team who will adapt and continue to grow with the company."

Clarkson Evans Training is the sister company of Clarkson Evans, the electrical contracting company which employs over 850 people and wired nearly 20,000 new homes last year.

Clarkson Evans has received numerous awards for its in-house training programme, including a highly-coveted Princess Royal Training Award in 2017 and Apprentice Employer of the Year at the 2018 AAC Awards.
