Four held after £1m burglary of business entrepreneur's Cotswold mansion

Detectives have arrested four men following a burglary on the Bibury home of businessman, Sir Christopher Evans, in July.

The men, aged 40, 42, 43 and 41, were arrested on suspicion of burglary following coordinated warrants in Cheltenham and the Evesham area on Wednesday, 5 September.

They remain in custody while enquiries continue.

Gloucestershire police officers were called on Monday, 9 July, to reports of a burglary at Glebe House in Bibury where four suspects are believed to have climbed a seven-foot wall to gain entry to the grounds.

The burglary, which took place in the evening, saw offenders leave with jewellery and antiques which had an estimated value in excess of one million pounds.

Anyone who has information about the crime is still urged to call 101 and quote incident 595 of 9 July.
