Former ice cream HQ is sold

Robert Hitchins Ltd has sold two landmark office buildings at the gateway to Gloucester to Helix Property Ltd, trading as BizSpace.

The Office Campus @ Barnwood Point consists of two buildings, once the HQ of Birds Eye Wall's Ice Cream, providing more than 43,000 sq ft of office space over three and four floors.

Building One was refurbished by Robert Hitchins Ltd in 2017 to a high standard, attracting tenants River who moved in earlier this year.

The site also has planning permission to build a third office block, providing 42,800 sq ft of office accommodation.

It is located at one of the main gateways into Gloucester fronting Corinium Avenue and close to Junction 11a of the M5.

Asset and development manager for Cheltenham-based Robert Hitchins Ltd, John Jones, said the sale was part of the company's strategy to streamline its commercial property portfolio within a region encompassing Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, the South West and South Wales.

"Our aim is to modernise and balance the company's portfolio and we are actively seeking new investment opportunities within all asset classes throughout the region," he said.
