Forest of Dean cabin holiday site up for sale

A Forest of Dean holiday site, offering forest-based cabins and lodges, is up for sale.

The owners of Forest Holidays with twelve locations across the UK, including the one at Christchurch, near Coleford, have offered the business up for auction with a price tag of £250 million.

The boom in staycation holidays has created a good deal of interest among investors in the domestic holiday market.

Investment bankers Harris Williams is overseeing the sale, Sky News reports.

Any sale will result in a windfall for the Forestry Commission.

The private equity firm Phoenix Equity Partners have controlling interest in the company. Another private equity company LDC has a minority stake, but the Forestry Commission also holds shares.
