Festive fundraising for children’s charity

Gloucestershire children's charity the Pied Piper Appeal has pulled out all the stops to keep funds and donations coming in during December to help support poorly children in hospital, SEND schools, memory-making holidays and paediatric mental health.

The big 100 Christmas Raffle is gathering pace thanks to Blue Bamboo Bar, Smartcomms and the many prizes donated by generous local businesses and celebrities. First prize is £500 cash from Blue Bamboo and there are 99 other top prizes, including a fantastic hamper from RRA Architects.

Look out on Pied Piper social media for the Facebook Live draw happening before Christmas. Tickets are just £2 each and can be bought online here https://www.piedpiperappeal.co.uk/big-christmas-raffle/

It wouldn't be Christmas without a festive knit! If your office is having a Christmas jumper day or you just want to dress up, many Pied Piper supporters are making a donation and every £1 donated is spent here in Gloucestershire. Staff at Steve Gooch Estate Agents are donning their favourite festive fineries across all their offices in the the county.

For Christmas, children can enter a colouring competition to raise more funds to buy essential supplies that do make a difference for the hardworking nurses, parents and poorly children in hospital. It costs just £2 to download a picture to colour.

A new event for December is the virtual Santa Fun Run. You can enter to run 1k, 5k or even further. Entries costs £10pp or £25 for a family. Choose your route, pop on a Santa hat and run any time, anywhere between Wednesday 16th December and Wednesday 30th December. No Strava is required, but please share pics.

Cathryn Hage, Pied Piper trustees, said: "Our cocktail masterclasses are so popular, and what better way to join Zoom with your colleagues and friends. It's a great alternative to office parties. Masterclasses cost £10 per household and we will be dressing up in sparkles to bring some festive cheer. Thanks to the Ivy Brasserie Cheltenham, bar manager Tom Palmer and Steven Wilmer for guiding us through how to make and shake."

Thank you also to Freeman Events Partners, Charlene Spackman and Brunsdon Financial for their support.
