Fatal collision on A417 in Gloucestershire

Investigating officers are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision which took place Saturday morning, (October 23).

Police were called to the A417 at Crickley Hill, near Gloucester, just after 4am with a report of a collision involving a black Hyundai i10 and a grey Iveco HGV.

The collision took place on the stretch of road between the A46 Shurdington Road junction and the Air Balloon Roundabout.

The driver of the Hyundai, a man in his 20s from the North West of England, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene despite paramedics being in attendance.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

Road closures remain in place between the A46 Shurdington Road junction and the Air Balloon Roundabout and drivers are asked to find alternative routes.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who has not already been spoken to and who may have witnessed what happened.
