Fat Face profits looking slimmer

Profits at fashion retailer, Fat Face, have fallen by 11.3 per cent.

The company, which has stores in Cirencester, Gloucester Quays, Stow-on-the-Wold and Cheltenham, saw its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), go down to £29.7 million in the year ending 3rd June, as reported by Retail Gazette.

But total sales increased 2.4 per cent to £226.1 million in the same period and its net debt also dropped to £135.6 million, after prepaying £15 million of debt.

Over the last year Fat Face invested £9.5 million in a new 80,000 sq ft distribution centre near Portsmouth and opened 10 new stores, including three in the US.

The company plans to to open six to eight stores in the UK in the next 12 months, four stores in the US, and to launch a new ecommerce platform. It already has more than 200 stores in the UK.
