Fashion brand to open new store

Fans of shoemakers Cara and Jones may have bemoaned the loss of their Cheltenham stores, but it looks like a rival brand could be striding to their rescue.

Jones closed its doors on the Promenade in the town last year, but it looks like Loake Shoemakers is looking to expand its UK footprint into the town just yards away.

The major chain, with headquarters in Northamptonshire, has put a sign up in the window of the former Cara shoe shop in Ormond Place announcing its pending arrival.

The premises, next to Moss Bros, is just yards from the Regent Street entrance to one of the town's major retail shopping centres, Regent Arcade.
