Fairford & Lechlade Business Club Awards open for entries

Now is the time for local businesses to get the recognition they deserve by entering the Fairford & Lechlade Business (FLBC) Awards 2023.

After a tough few years, businesses continue to navigate the difficult economic conditions post pandemic.

The aim of the FLBC Awards is to celebrate the achievements and successes of businesses and individuals, in this special corner of the Cotswolds.

The business club is based on the borders of three counties; Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire, so to enter the awards, organisations or those that run them will be in the GL7, GL54, SN6, SN7 or OX18 postcodes areas OR a member of the club (located anywhere).

It's free to enter and there are categories for:

Business of the Year

Business Person or the Year

New Business/Most Innovative Business.

Shirley Wheeler, the FLBC chair, said: "The awards are now in their 16th year and it's such a great opportunity for local businesses to celebrate local entrepreneurship. Apart from the judges no one knows who the winners are until the night!

"The business club is run entirely by volunteers, and I would also like to thank and recognise them and our sponsors for their generous support who enable our important annual event to take place."

The voting for the favourite local hospitality venue is also now open. The Bob Warren Hospitality Award is in memory of one of the club's founder members and landlord of the Trout Inn, Lechlade.

Entries and voting closes on Tuesday, 28th February, and the presentation ceremony is on Saturday, 18th March, at Wrag Barn Golf Club in Highworth.

The ceremony will provide local businesses, hospitality venues, entrepreneurs and business students, their supporters and teams the opportunity to be publicly recognised for their efforts.
