Estate agent chooses Sue Ryder as charity partner again

A Cheltenham estate agent is building on its charity partnership with Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice following the success of its 2017 fundraising.

Last year, the Cheltenham branch of Cotswolds Estate Agents, Perry Bishop and Chambers, made a donation to the local hospice for every home they sold in Leckhampton. After raising a fantastic £1,200, the team has chosen to extend its support for Gloucestershire's only in-patient hospice.

In 2018 they will be making a donation to the hospice charity for every home sold in Leckhampton and Charlton Kings, giving even greater benefit to the hospice.

Staff wanted to continue their support of the local cause, especially as many of them have a personal connection with the hospice.

Director and branch manager, Gavin Wallace, said: "We feel privileged to be supporting the hospice and felt compelled to carry on with our fundraising and event support for them again this year. By including the sale of properties in Charlton Kings in our donation scheme, we hope to raise even more money to fund the amazing work that takes place at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice."

Kelly Rumble, community fundraising manager at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, said: "We are thrilled Perry Bishop and Chambers have decided not only to continue, but extend their support for our hospice this year. Their support is so important as the donations allow us to continue providing much-needed care to the people of Gloucestershire - the money raised last year could pay for eight nurses for a day. Not only have they supported us financially but they have supported us through volunteering too, giving up their own time to provide a water station for our Starlight Hike walk right outside their branch, which we know a lot of our Starlight Hikers were really grateful for."

Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice is the provider of the only in-patient care unit giving specialist hospice care in Gloucestershire, alongside its day hospice and hospice at home service, taking its expert hospice care out into local communities.

As a charity, all of its services are provided for free but it costs £10,000 to run every day. The majority of its funds are met through charitable giving and fundraising support.
