Entrepreneurs toast opening of two venues at Food Dock

After the success of the first two openings at Gloucester Food Dock, two more venues are opening this Friday.

The Hop Kettle and Wholly Gelato were the first venues to open at the £3.5 million development In October and are trading successfully.

Now Bella Mia Pizza @ No.1 and Green Door @ No. 1 are set to open at the Gloucester Food Dock on Friday, November 17.

Jamie Di Crescienzo and Jake O'Malley started Bella Mia Pizza seven years ago from a converted horsebox and have been rapidly expanding since 2021.

Now in 2023 they are opening their first restaurant located on The Quayside at Gloucester Food Dock.

Jake said: "After the last few weeks of hard work, everything is now coming together and we are both really excited to welcome everyone."

But Bella Mia Pizza @ No.1 is not the only business these entrepreneurs are establishing at Gloucester Food Dock.

What is likely the best, worst kept secret in Gloucester, Green Door @ No. 1, Gloucester's very own 1920's speakeasy cocktail bar is hidden behind Bella Mia Pizza @ No.1 and will keep you entertained until 2am on the weekends.

As some people will know, in the heart of the prohibition era, buildings with green doors represented a secret place for those seeking alcohol. Green doors meant a good time and this one will mean no different.

However, while it may be the best, worst kept secret in Gloucester, do you know the code to get through the green door?

Following the opening of this business, four more businesses are set to open at the end of November, including Hetty's Place, Elote Tacos, Chuck Burgers and Our House (Sibling Gin). These will be followed by a new, yet to be revealed business, in December.
