A Gloucestershire country pub has come to the aid of people who want their regular pub food fix or to provide a delicious hot meal for an elderly neighbour or self-isolating family member.

The Gloucester Old Spot is based on the A4019 just to the west of Cheltenham has launched a takeaway menu in an attempt to offer people a treat for a reasonable price.

The menu will change daily and consist of four pub classics, which may include fish and chips, handmade pies, curries, vegan chilli, fish pie and many more.

Simon Daws, host at the pub said: "this new initiative also provides a facility for those wishing to feed isolated neighbours or family with handmade, yet healthy hot pub food at just £7.50 a portion.

"Just phone the pub and select from the daily offer, pay over the phone and agree a collection time.

"We want to be socially responsible in our outlook, whilst maintaining some trade to support the employees of the business rather than laying people off.

"Our pub remains full open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week for guests still wanting the full pub experience whether for a drink or a meal and for Mothering Sunday."
