Ecclesiastical to give £130,000 this Christmas – there’s still time to nominate your charity!

Gloucester-based insurer, Ecclesiastical, has already received more than 12,000 nominations for its 12 Days of Giving Christmas campaign and time is running out to vote for your charity.

As part of its 130th year celebrations, the specialist insurer is giving 130 different charities an early Christmas gift of a £1000 donation, with 10 winners announced in its offices each day and 20 announced on the final day of the 12-day campaign.

Anyone can nominate a registered charity close to their hearts to benefit from this festive boost before midnight on 5 December by voting at www.ecclesiastical.com/12days

The charity winners will be announced at Ecclesiastical's Gloucester headquarters on Brunswick Road - where more than 500 staff are based - as well as in its offices in London, Eastbourne, Manchester, Birmingham and Dublin every weekday between 6 December and 21 December. The 12 Days of Giving winners will also be revealed on the webpage and on Twitter and LinkedIn each day.

Chris Pitt, corporate responsibility manager at Ecclesiastical, said: "We've been overwhelmed by the number of nominations we have received so far, and there will be lots of Gloucestershire charities going into the hat for the draws.

"As a Group, we have been donating our profits to good causes for many years and our staff are hugely passionate about fundraising, volunteering and payroll giving. This Christmas campaign is all about supporting a wide range of causes in a small way, which all adds up to make a big impact."

Ecclesiastical staff gave nearly £250,000 to good causes in 2016 through personal grants and matched donations for fundraising and payroll giving as part of the company's 'MyGiving' scheme.

Ecclesiastical gives all members of staff a personal grant of £125 to give to charity and this is doubled if they volunteer for the same charity.

In 2017, staff have been involved with fundraising and volunteering for good causes throughout Gloucestershire, including the Nelson Trust, Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA), the Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust and St Rose's School in Stroud.
