Ecclesiastical giving £130,000 to 130 charities

Gloucester-based insurer Ecclesiastical is giving £130,000 to charity as part of its '12 Days of Giving' Christmas campaign - and you can nominate a charity for a share.

As part of its 130th year celebrations, the specialist insurer will be giving 130 different charities an early Christmas gift of a £1,000 donation, with 10 winners announced in its offices each day and 20 announced on the final day of the 12-day campaign.

The specialist insurer is inviting people to nominate a registered charity close to their hearts to benefit from this festive boost between November 1 and midnight on December 5th. You can vote for your charity at www.ecclesiastical.com/12-days/index.aspx

The charity winners will be announced at Ecclesiastical's Gloucester headquarters on Brunswick Road - where more than 500 staff are based - as well as in its offices in London, Eastbourne, Manchester, Birmingham and Dublin every weekday between December 6 and 21. The '12 Days of Giving' winners will also be revealed on the webpage and on Twitter and LinkedIn each day.

Chris Pitt, corporate responsibility manager at Ecclesiastical, said: "As a group, we have been donating our profits to good causes for many years and our staff are hugely passionate about fundraising, volunteering and payroll giving.

"We'd love to see people get behind our Christmas campaign, which is all about supporting a wide range of causes in a small way, which all adds up to make a big impact. It's quick and easy to nominate online and we'll be sharing stories in the new year about the difference the money is making."

Ecclesiastical staff gave nearly £250,000 to good causes in 2016 through personal grants and matched donations for fundraising and payroll giving as part of the company's 'MyGiving' scheme.

Ecclesiastical gives all members of staff a personal grant of £125 to give to charity and this is doubled if they volunteer for the same charity.

In 2017, staff have been involved with fundraising and volunteering for good causes throughout Gloucestershire, including the Nelson Trust, Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA), the Gloucestershire Historic Churches Trust and St Rose's School in Stroud.
