Eagle Tower employee to run London Marathon
By Sophie Ladd | 12th July 2021
Joanna Kowalska, an employee at Eagle Tower will be joining the 50,000 runners crossing the starting line of London Marathon on Sunday 3rd October
She had been due to take part in 2020 but that was cancelled at the height of the pandemic.
Joanna will be running to raise funds for Eagle Tower's 2021 and 2022 charity, Caring for Communities and people (CCP).
CCP helps children, young people, families and vulnerable adults by working to prevent homelessness, and strengthen families across the South West.
Joanna commented on her participation:
"Like anybody who was entered into last year's event, I was disappointed that the London Marathon was cancelled. I am thrilled though that my space has been carried over to this year.
"My training is going well, but I don't under-estimate how difficult a challenge it will be. I am sure though that the atmosphere and crowds will get me around, as well as the thought of helping the people that CCP support, with the money I raise".
Cordell Ray MBE, Chief Executive of CCP commented:
"I am delighted that we have been able to carry over the space in the London Marathon for Joanna to this year, as well as allocate an additional space to Paul Berry from another Cheltenham firm, Officeworx.
"I know that I speak on behalf of the whole team here at CCP and everyone we help, when I say how much we appreciate what a massive commitment Joanna and Paul are making on our behalf. I wish them all the very best on the day and hope that it is a memorable experience for them".
Cherie Lampitt, Building Manager for Eagle Tower added:
"We are a small, close knit team here at Eagle Tower and we couldn't be any more proud of Joanna supporting CCP in this way. I am sure that it will be a fantastic experience for her, seeing so many iconic sights and taking part in an event that is known and watched all around the world. We will be doing our utmost to help her reach her personal fundraising target".
