Diary Date: Stroud District Open for Business – a call to action

An event billed as Stroud District Open for Business is due to take place tomorrow (Thursday, October 31) at SGS College.
All are welcome along to the Stroud Business Voice and Business West event at the Stratford Road venue (GL5 41H), which hopes to begin to outline a road-map for the district's economic future.
Leading from the front will be Steve Dechan, chairman of Stroud Business Voice, and managing director of P14 Medical, Kathy O'Leary, chief executive of Stroud District Council, Kevin Hamblin, principal of SGS College, David Owen, chief executive officer of GFirst LEP, Mark Dransfield, managing director of Dransfield Properties, Dr Simon Pickering, Stroud district councillor, Matt Griffith, policy director for Business West and Andrew Callard, chairman of the Forest Economic Partnership.
Topics will include SGS College's ambitions for its Stroud site, including its engagements with business and apprenticeships, GFirst LEP's new draft industrial strategy - particularly the young people survey and Stroud Growth HUB, the future of the high street, how business can improve the environment and the inevitable Brexit.
Registration, networking and refreshments will start from 9am with the event commencing at 9.30am.
Staff members on the front desk who will be managing registration and showing guests up to the lecture room.
There is ample free parking at the college and there is also cycle secure parking available.
If you are travelling by train, the college is a short 15-minute walk from Stroud train station.
