Diane Savory to vacate GFirst LEP chair

Diane Savory is stepping down as the chair of GFirst LEP after nearly 10 years in the role.

Dr Savory, who previously worked as chief operating officer at Cheltenham fashion brand Superdry, will step down from the helm of the local enterprise partnership later this year.

In a statement advertising the position, GFirst LEP said: "Diane has been a powerful, inspiring and ambitious leader for the county.

"She steps down at the end of August and will leave incredibly deep footprints in the foundations.

"It will take some doing to match here contributions to the county."

Since September, she has headed a task force of council and business figures designed to lead Cheltenham's economic response to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

She is also a member of the national High Streets Task Force and ministerial-chaired Economic Recovery Workgroup.

As well as advertising for an "experienced business leader" to fill the role, GFirst LEP is looking for new board members from the private sector to replace existing members whose terms are coming to an end.
