Developer named for new performing arts centre and 37 homes

Twenty-four luxury houses, a baker's dozen up-market homes and a 300-seater arts centre have all moved a step closer for a Cotswold town.

Chipping Campden School has revealed its preferred partner for the development is Duchy Homes, and it looks like a Gloucestershire building company is also in the mix.

Plans for 13 new keyworker homes for the school housing association and 24 luxury homes for private sale will be what delivers the first phase of funding to bring forward the performing arts centre.

The centre will host music, dance, film and theatre performances, will include an outdoor amphitheatre, three additional classrooms and a drama studio.

Cheltenham plumbing, heating and electrical experts SW&L (Shackleton Wintle & Lane) looks like it is also involved in the project.

John Sanderson, principal at the school, called the scheme an "important venture" for the town and the school.
