Designs unveiled for Brockworth school

Plans have been revealed for a proposed special school in Brockworth.

Designs were unveiled ahead of a drop-in event at Brockworth Community Centre where they will remain on display until September 15.

If planning approval is granted, the the school in Mill Lane will provide 75 places for young people aged 11-16 with social, emotional and mental health needs from 2022.

The school will also support children with autism and speech, language and communication needs.

Councillor Patrick Molyneux, cabinet member for education, economy and skills at Gloucestershire County Council, said: "We're committed to making sure all children get the education they deserve, which is why we're investing over £100million into our county's schools.

"There is strong support for increasing the special educational needs provision in the county and this school will provide much-needed places for local children."
