Design competition launched for young product designers
By Matt Hall | 27th March 2020
Launched by Cheltenham product design company Duku, the online competition looks to help keep children creating while on lockdown.
Open to children up to 16 years old, the competition is asking primary and secondary school children to design a product that will brighten someone's day!
This could be anything from a vase for Granny to a toy rocket or your own version of the latest trending product - whatever that is!
Any design is eligible as long as it can fit into a box sized 32cm x 25cm x 20cm, which will allow it to be 3d printed.
The winner from each category will receive a Lego set worth up to £120. With an overall winner across all the categories who will get to see their design showcased and created by 3d printer.
The competition is broken down into three age ranges, under five year olds, six to ten year olds and 11 to 16yr olds and you can enter the competition here https://www.duku.co.uk/competition.
Andrew Aylesbury, director at Duku said: "The competition aims to provide a distraction from the boredom of isolation while also introducing children to the concept of product design. We're looking forward to seeing what designs come in and then 3d printing the overall winner!"
The online competition closes on Friday 10 April and the winners of each category will be announced shortly afterwards.
