Deliveries are perfect topping on Domino's results

Domino's Pizza have seen sales increase by almost a fifth over the last three months topped off with a continued growth in deliveries.

A trading update for the 13 weeks to March 28 revealed UK and Ireland sales of £371.3million, up 18.7 per cent on the same period last year which was largely unaffected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Deliveries have grown by 6.8 per cent during the quarter, more than offsetting a fall in collections which are trading at 65 per cent of 2019 levels.

Chief executive Dominic Paul said: "We are pleased with the strong performance of the business in the first quarter of the year.

"The investments we are making to deliver our multi-year strategic plan give us confidence in our ability to capitalise on the opportunities which lie ahead as the nation begins to emerge from the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions.

"We are working to fulfil our vision of being the UK and Ireland's favourite food delivery and collection business."
