Defibrillators have been installed at new housing developments in Gloucestershire to help in the event of am emergency.
Housebuilding group Edenstone has put the life-saving machines at River View Garden Village in Lydney and Trinity Quarter in Brockworth.
It has also put two in Ross-on-Wye -outside the sports centre and at its Bluebell Homes sales office, which will be moved to the community centre once it is built.
In the event of an emergency anyone can access the lifesaving equiment by calling 999 and following the instructions on how to use it.
Defibrillators deliver a high energy electric shock to the heart of someone who is in cardiac arrest. No training is needed to use them and having them on hand can make the difference between life and death.
Chris Edge, Edenstone operations director, said: "Providing defibrillators at our developments and in the wider communities in which we operate is part of our commitment to being a responsible housebuilder and means we can potentially help in the event of an emergency.
"The defibrillators are stored in locked cabinets in prime locations and can be accessed using a code obtained by calling 999. There's no training required as the device gives instructions, checks the heart rhythm of the casualty, and will advise if a shock is needed.
"The defibrillators we've provided could save lives, but we of course hope they don't have to be used."
Edenstone is an independently owned housebuilding group based in Wales and operating throughout South Wales, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and the South West of England.
It delivered total sales of £91m in the 12 months to April 2022 and is scheduled to have built 400 homes in the 12 months to April 2023.
