Debenhams to make big online comeback

Its stores might all be set to close in the next few days, but Debenhams is heading for a big online relaunch in the autumn.

The Debenhams brand was snapped by internet fashion giant Boohoo earlier this year. Now the company has lined up 200 cosmetics brands for the website, as reported by Mail Online.

In its heyday, Debenhams, sold £550million of fashion, beauty and homewares a year. Boohoo is determined to get back to those levels in future, with intensive work to improve Debenhams' website.

Boohoo said that acquiring the Debenhams brand will take it into markets it has never been in before, including childrenswear, home products and sport. The plan is to have everything that was sold in Debenhams stores on the website by late summer.

The remaining Debenhams stores, including the Gloucester store, will close on Saturday (15th May).
