VIDEO: Dave's cruising at 100 tiles an hour!

When it comes to easing off the work throttle, many of us might contemplate a hobby that takes us to the garden shed, but for Stroud's tiling king Dave Jones, that hobby needs a bit more space.

Dave, now retired, built up plumbing, tiling and bathroom-fitting firm Tile Trader Stroud Ltd and has spent many years simultaneously retailing ceramic wall and floor tiles out of the Ryeford Industrial Estate in Stonehouse.

And when he recently took a back seat from the family business, he jumped into the driving seat of his true passion: buying and restoring exotic and interesting motors.

Dave told Punchline-Glos.com editor Mark Owen: "I've been doing this for about 15 years."

Dave treated Mark to a behind-the-scenes pitstop tour of his pride and joy collection, which features all manner of exotica, from a recently acquired daily drive, a Rolls Royce Phantom to a Bentley Continental GTC for sunnier days via a classic vintage Rolls Royce Silver Cloud.

There's also a rare 1955 Mercedes-Benz Pontin 220S, a serene Bentley Continental saloon, a brace of increasingly sought-after Morris Travellers and – currently being restored – a dreamy Rolls Royce Silver Cloud.

You can discover more about Dave's collection here – and see if you can spot the wild-card vehicle that gives a hint of Dave's other hobby when he's not got his head under a bonnet!
