County vehicle recycling firm is taken over

FAB Recycling Ltd, the Cinderford based vehicle parts recycling firm, has been acquired by Motorhog, the UK's largest vehicle dismantler.

Richard Martin, managing director of Motorhog, will join the board at FAB with immediate effect to strengthen the existing team led by FAB's managing director, Jason Cross.

Mr Cross said: "This is a very exciting day for FAB, the timing could not be better. The interest and appetite for quality green parts here at FAB and across the UK has never been stronger.

"FAB's hard work at delivering top quality graded parts to some of the largest household names in the UK, delivered with exemplary customer service has obviously not gone unnoticed.

"I look forward to working alongside Richard and his team to develop an exceptional customer focused offering that will deliver on scale, expertise and passion in the green parts arena here in the UK. By focusing on each other's strengths, we will be able to deliver a formidable UK parts and salvage proposition."

Richard Martin said: "We have recognised the hard work and achievements by FAB Recycling Ltd and its directors, which we have very much respected and appreciated. Such is the quality and good business ethics of this company we felt that the opportunities this presents would be a perfect fit within our own business.

"These are very exciting times as we continue our successful growth, the combined strengths, knowledge and experience of both companies will reinforce our market position further as the largest combined motor vehicle salvage disposal and recycling company in the UK."

Founded in 1991, FAB Recycling is based on two sites, one a 2.5-acre fleet specialist facility and an additional new 6.5-acre site in Cinderford.

FAB started life as a specialist BMW dismantler but grew rapidly, overseen by managing director, Jason Cross, who joined the business in 1994 and today oversees a team of 36 and stocks in excess of 18,500 tested, cleaned and catalogued parts.

All of FAB's recycled bolt-on type vehicle body panels and mechanical parts are supplied graded and fully warranted and also come with full traceability.

FAB makes over 14,300 individual shipments of recycled parts worldwide every year.
