Two county universities have been downgraded in the latest Sunday Times Good University Guide.
The Sunday Times League table uses various data to rank universities across areas such as teaching quality, student experience, good honours and services and facilities.
The University of Gloucestershire based at Cheltenham and Gloucester is ranked 83rd out of 129, down from the 71 spot in 2016.
And the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester achieves a ranking of 86 -down from 63rd last year.
The University of Gloucestershire is said to have embarked on a five-year plan to grow places by one third. It is just outside the top 30 in the National Student Survey of teaching quality and student experience.
The university's primary and secondary teacher training courses are described as outstanding by Ofsted.
