County railway station to get a makeover
14th February 2018
Gloucestershire County Council is investing £24,000 to revamp the car park at Cam and Dursley railway station.
The plans will see the creation of ten new parking spaces, made available by more effective use of space in the car park.
Additionally, new arrows will be painted on the ground to better direct traffic flow through the parking area. Parking lines that mark existing spaces will be repainted, and potholes in the overflow car park are set to be filled. The bus shelter will also be refurbished.
Work on the site is due to begin this week, and is scheduled to be complete by the end of March. In order to minimise disruption to users of the station, work is being done out-of-hours.
Nigel Moor, cabinet member for fire, planning and infrastructure, said: "This work will go some way to easing congestion outside Cam and Dursley station. By making better use of the available space and how car park users navigate this, we can help to make the area safer as well as improving parking facilities."
