Council suspends car parking charges for Lydney Party in the Park

Forest of Dean District Council is supporting the Lydney Party in the Park charity event by suspending car parking charges at its car parks in the town on Saturday 19 August.

Parking will be free for the day in the council's three car parks at Newerne Street, Newerne Street Overflow and Bream Road.

Councillor Roger James, Deputy Leader of the Forest council, said: "We're pleased to support Lydney's Party in the Park with free car parking all day in our Lydney car parks on 19 August. We encourage residents to go along and support this excellent free charity event."

Harry Ives, Chairman of Bathurst Park Charitable Trust added: "I'm thankful to the district council for their generous support of this year's Party in the Park. This free event brings together a professional London dance company, top local singers and a very wide range of attractions. Stalls include children's rides, face painting, bouncy castles, magic shows, puppetry, balloon sculpting, athletics, traders and even a bucking bronco!"

Party in the Park will run from 12pm to 5.30pm at Bathurst Park, Lydney.
