Council seeks new economic development lead

Could you help lead the Cotswolds on the road to economic recovery and regeneration?
Cotswold District Council is looking for someone with a knowledge of business, securing investments and the local economy to come forward and apply for the role of Economic Development Lead.
The successful applicant will be based out of Cirencester overseeing the council's economic recovery plan, supporting and building relationships with local businesses, as well as securing investment in the area.
A job advert on the council's website reads: "Underneath the natural and historic beauty of the Cotswolds lies a technologically advanced economy with award-winning businesses.
"Based in the Roman town of Cirencester, and the heart of the Cotswolds, you will be working collaboratively with a network of key partners, business leaders and organisations from across the district.
"Cotswold District Council is looking to appoint to this new position and is committed to the recovery and regeneration of the local economy. It has identified opportunities to build on existing strengths around high value, high tech, digital and the green economy.
"There are key opportunities for growth around strategic sites, key businesses and town centre regeneration."
It adds that applicants should have energy, imagination and great listening skills to make a real difference as part of the business community, an in-depth understanding of wider financial cycles and be successful in securing inward investment to realise latent business potential and help deliver the council's commercialisation strategy.
The two-year fixed-term position offers a salary of up to £38,100 per annum, 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, flexible working opportunities, reward and recognition program as well as six months full sick pay after 12 months service.
