Council asks travellers to quit town centre car park

A number of travellers arrived overnight on Tuesday at the Beeches Road car park in Cirencester.

Cotswold District Council said officers have visited the site and have spoken with some of the travellers.

The council confirmed that legal action will be taken if necessary to ensure that they vacate the site as soon as possible.

"In the meantime, season ticket holders for the Beeches Car Park can also use the nearby Waterloo Car Park if they wish," said a council spokesman.
