Could you help fulfil final wishes of local families?

Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court has launched a recruitment drive so it can deliver more care to more people in Gloucester, Tewkesbury and Cheltenham.

The hospice is on the look-out for dedicated nursing staff with a passion for delivering expert and compassionate palliative care who hold an NVQ Level 2 (or working towards one), a full driving licence and experience of working in a community setting.

The recruitment drive follows a substantial donation from The Summerfield Charitable Trust, which will see the expansion of the charity's 'Hospice at Home' service.

Currently seven senior nursing assistants and two nursing assistant roles are being recruited, offering the opportunity for candidates to further their career with the much-loved charity, as well as enjoying a great list of benefits and full training and support.

The successful applicants will be joining at an exciting time for the hospice, which will see the Hospice at Home team grow from one team to three, helping the charity deliver its vision of more care for more people in the county to people like Jacky Stewart from Gloucester and her husband Ken.

Jacky said, "I can't tell you what a difference the Hospice at Home team made. They were kind, compassionate, funny and so very gentle with Ken; I don't know what we would have done without them, they gave us the strength to carry on and supported us through the worst time of our lives."

"Sue Ryder helped us keep our final promises to each other and for that I shall be eternally grateful."

Melissa Tiley-Waters is a Senior Nursing Assistant on the Hospice at Home Team. She said, "Being a Hospice at Home nurse is so rewarding. It is a huge privilege to go into someone's own home and do the job we do. Families place a lot of trust in us to care for someone they love dearly who is poorly."

Hospice Director at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, Elise Hoadley is keen for people interested in joining the team to get in touch. She said, "There has never been a better time to join our team at Sue Ryder. It's a fantastic charity to work for and you'll be joining an expert and compassionate team of Hospice at Home professionals."

"Anyone interested in joining us is warmly invited to find out more. If you are interested in visiting us to get a better idea of what our care is all about, please contact us on 01242 230199 to arrange a suitable time and day. We will be more than happy to show you around and you can have a chat with some of our staff."

Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice is committed to the on-going learning and development of its workforce. Staff have a clear skills development framework in place to ensure they continue to develop their skills and further progress their career. The charity also offers a supportive environment.
