Cotswolds hotel among UK's top hospitality employers

A Cotswolds boutique hotel has been recognised as one of the best hospitality industry employers in the UK.

The Old Stocks Inn hotel and restaurant, in Stow-on-the-Wold, has been named one of the top six elite employers in the The Caterer's prestigious Best Places to Work in Hospitality 2022 awards.

The award, announced at The Caterer People Summit, comes after The Old Stocks was also recently shortlisted for the Catey award for Best Employer with the winner being announced at a glittering ceremony in July.

The Old Stocks team has also made the shortlist in the Team Of The Year category at last year's Boutique Hotelier Awards.

Promising the "warmest welcome in the Cotswolds," The Old Stocks Inn reopened in 2015 following a multi-million-pound refurbishment. The 17th-century coaching inn has since established itself as one of the Cotswolds' most renowned boutique hotels and restaurants with an excellent reputation for customer service.

More than one in four of the current staff have worked for The Old Stocks since it reopened and the hotel has average employee retention rates above 90% each year.

Charlotte Tuck, business and brand development manager at The Old Stocks Inn, said: "We are thrilled to again be recognised as one of the UK's best hospitality employers.

"Given the challenges everyone in the industry has faced in the past two years, it is especially pleasing to be acknowledged as a great employer who truly values our wonderful staff.

"Our O/S Troupe team makes The Old Stocks experience so special for our guests and we work hard to maintain a positive, supportive and inclusive environment that lets our people shine. Our philosophy has always been to treat staff well and reward and recognise their efforts.

"This nomination is based on feedback from our team and it is fantastic to know how much our O/S Troupe love working at The Old Stocks. In addition, the fact this news comes so soon after being shortlisted in the Best Employer category at the national Catey awards is the icing on the cake! We're so proud of the whole team."
