Cotswolds boutique hotel is snapped up

Old Amersham Hotels has added a boutique-style hotel in Stow-on-the-Wold to its portfolio in a deal brokered by Colliers International.

Number Four at Stow has stylish accommodation comprising 18 air-conditioned bedrooms, suites and a family room. Other facilities include the restaurant Cutler's, a meeting suite, and well-tended gardens.

Old Amersham Hotels Director David Ashfield said: "We have six hotels, three here in the Cotswolds and three more in the Chilterns providing high quality service for the tourist and business markets.

"Number Four at Stow makes a great addition to our portfolio. It is a real asset and is in great shape. Our first objective will be to make sure more people know about it."

Number Four at Stow was on the market with Colliers International at £1.5m for the freehold. It was sold in a deal brokered by Hotels director Peter Brunt, who handled the sale of the Horse and Groom at Upper Oddington to Old Amersham Hotels last year.

Mr Brunt said: "Number Four at Stow is a great fit for this ambitious, high quality brand. It had been run by sisters Caroline and Patricia Losel, and was ranked as one of the top 10 in the UK by Tripadvisor.

"With high quality competition everywhere you look it's a real challenge to be recognised as one of the best hotels in the Cotswolds - but Number Four is Number One for locals and visitors alike, and it makes an excellent acquisition for the Old Amersham Hotels group."

The original building was a two-storey public house and then became the Roman Court Hotel. The sisters bought the property in 2010 and completed a comprehensive refurbishment.

In addition to the luxuriously-appointed bedrooms there is a two-bedroom cottage which can be used as staff or self-catering accommodation.
