Cotswold hotel to be renamed following major refurbishment

A hotel in Burford is being renamed by its owners, Butcombe Pubs & Inns, after an extensive refurbishment.
Currently known as the Cotswold Gateway, the 18th Century coaching inn will reopen towards the end of November with a new look, new offering and brand-new name - The Prince of Burford.
The new name is said to be a nod to the building's historic position as the jewel in the crown of Burford.
The new crest branding will feature a golden lion, a symbol many locals will be familiar with - the lion was adopted as the town's seal from its founder Robert Fitzhamon's coat of arms when Burford was granted a charter in 1090.
Butcombe said the refurbishment will see a redesign of all 16 guest rooms and ensuite bathrooms, in a modern twist on classic Cotswold country house styling.
Downstairs will also be transformed with the addition of a purpose-built bar in a newly designed 'casual' area complete with snug and reception area, following through to a new dining space and restaurant.
Work outside includes landscaping, planting and a timber built, covered pergola and large decked area.
