Cotswold company pens major deal with Balfour Beatty

South Cerney-based Hercules Site Services has announced a five-year contract with Balfour Beatty.

The deal will see Hercules Site Services (HSS) supply labour to Balfour Beatty for work on behalf of Network Rail, Transport for Wales and London Underground, as part of a £44 billion project to upgrade railways, as reported by Proactive Investors.

HSS is one of six contractors supplying essential labour to the project, which is due to take place between 2024 and 2029.

Specialist staff from HSS will work on live railways for the first time under the agreement, giving the firm a new revenue stream and a wider range of opportunities in the rail industry.

Previously, HSS, which has worked with Balfour Beatty for many years, has provided staff to 'deliver heavy civils and earthworks' for the start of rail-based projects.

The firm said that its ongoing contracts for the first phase of the HS2 project haven't been affected by the prime minister's announcement last week that the Manchester link will be scrapped.
