Cotswold care development site sold

A care development site in Moreton-in-Marsh has been sold on behalf of Mercian Developments to regional care provider, Taylor & Taylor.

The development includes full planning permission for a high specification 60-bedroom care home, situated on the edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The site is part of the former Fosseway Farm on the west side of Stow Road, which is also known as the Fosseway (or the A429). It sits behind an Aldi food store and adjacent to a modern hospital and medical centre.

The sale was completed by commercial property advisers Christie & Co.

Charles Taylor, managing director at Taylor & Taylor, the site's new owner, said: "This site represents a wonderful opportunity for our company to expand our group and bring our high-quality care offering to the people of Moreton in Marsh.

"Achieving planning on this site took a large amount of effort from ourselves, Mercian and Christie & Co and we will now be working hard over the coming months to bring this much needed care facility to market."

Jordan Rundle, associate director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, said: "Moreton in Marsh is undersupplied with market standard care beds and this, coupled with the strong underlying wealth profile of the town, provided a compelling opportunity for an operator to meet this demand.

"The site itself provides an excellent setting for a new care facility benefiting from stunning views over the Cotswolds Hills and being situated adjacent to the North Cotswolds Hospital. Mercian Developments have been a pleasure to work with on this project and we wish them and Taylor & Taylor every success in the future."
