Cosmetics retailer to open hair salon

Cosmetics brand, Lush, is set to open its first ever hair salon next month.

The retailer with the very distinctive aroma, which has a branch in Cheltenham, will open the ethical salon in Brighton on December 2.

Lush said the salon will cater for all hair types and reduce salon waste, as reported by Retail Gazette.

The Lush Hair Lab will use chemical-free, natural henna hair dyes, rather than the ammonia, hydrogen peroxide and p-phenylenediamine mix favoured by most mainstream salons. It will even offer clients the choice between hard and soft water.

Lush plans to recycle 100% of salon waste, including hair cuttings. It said waste produced by UK hairdressers, including dye tubes, aluminium foil and hair cuttings, could fill 50 football stadiums every year.
